“Whispers of the River” is a site-sensitive installation that gives voice to fading rivers and the lives intertwined with them. Using agricultural waste, fabric remnants and salvaged materials, the artists recreate the emotional landscape of loss, memory and renewal. The work reflects on human disconnection from nature, inviting viewers to listen, remember and respond to the stories that flow within every river.
At its core, the installation draws from mata ni pachedi, the sacred textile art once painted along the Sabarmati ghats. Through reimagined deity forms and layered materials, it transforms tradition into contemporary reflection-a living voice of the river.
