He received the Khoj Support Grant (2020) and the SMS Visual Art Scholarship (2022) and currently lives and works in Bangalore.
The project is titled “Witnessing the Turahalli’s irreversible transformation”. The work seeks to represent different views of Turahalli, capturing its transformation from a biodiverse forest to a fragmented urban landscape. The Turahalli Forest, once a thriving ecosystem, has undergone a dramatic transformation as its organic forms have given way to inorganic, matchbox-like concrete structures. The work will stand as a testimony using drawings infused with memory and materials collected from both the forest and the city.
The installation draws from the artist’s personal engagement with Turahalli’s transformation, which has deeply affected its identity, character and ecological integrity. For the audience, the work serves as a testimony to a landscape struggling to endure, urging reflection on the fragile relationship between people, space and time.
