The Wine Intervention - A surreal-philosophical show

Mumbai-based actor and theatre-maker Prarthana Kudtarkar’s’s journey began with a solo act at Thespo India (2021), later refined for the National Student Drama Festival, UK (2023). Over the past four years, she has worked extensively in the Mumbai theatre circuit, performing in more than 12 productions. Entirely self-taught, she describes experience itself as her greatest teacher.

The Wine Intervention is her first step into writing and directing, rooted in novelty, unconventionality and exploration. At its centre is a girl waiting for a train on a platform, unable to board as her reality unravels. The metaphor expands into a surreal, philosophical reflection on faith, mental trauma and the patterns that hold us back.

For Prarthana, the play is not only a story but also a space for dialogue. She hopes audiences leave recognising how easily we slip into repeated cycles, and how awareness can shift those patterns. The Wine Intervention is both experimental and personal, questioning what it means to pause, confront and move forward.
