The Mole
Ahmedabad-based dancer and choreographer Rayan Bhambhani has been moving to rhythm since the age of four. What began with hip-hop soon evolved into a dedicated practice of contemporary, jazz, and ballet over the past eight years. Trained under the Nritya Shakti diploma program in Bombay and currently working with Dance Inc. India Company, Rayan brings both technical mastery and a refreshing sense of play to his craft.
Rayan headlines with his team in a theatrical-musical dance piece titled “The Mole.” Rarely seen in Ahmedabad, this format blends theatre, music and dance into a comic narrative. “The Mole” is meant to feel fresh, something big, something different, and something that gives the city’s dance audience a new lens to experience movement.
Rayan believes art doesn’t always need to be intellectualised or weighed down with history. His approach is deliberately simple yet unique. For him, this performance is deeply personal, a way of doing something significant for his community of dancers while staying true to his own philosophy. Above all, Rayan and his team want audiences to walk away smiling and entertained.
