The Bulleshah Project
Singer, composer, lyricist, Munaf Luhar wears many creative hats, all held together by a single thread: his love for performing live. With over a decade of experience in the music industry, Munaf’s repertoire spans Hindi and Gujarati songs, indie music, film compositions, Sufi and Hindustani folk traditions.
His latest creation, The Bulleshah Project, is a powerful confluence of storytelling, music and poetry. It retraces the spiritual and poetic journey of the Sufi saint Bulleh Shah, blending Punjabi and Sindhi folk with the intensity of rock and carnival music. A live narrator will accompany the performance, guiding the audience through the saint’s life and the values rooted in his verses, the eternal search for truth, the importance of a mentor and the essence of devotion.
Munaf’s musical evolution mirrors this journey, from Bollywood beginnings and a metal-rock phase to a soulful exploration of Sufi poets like Bulleh Shah, Amir Khusrau and Rumi. Each phase has deepened his belief that music is not just sound, but a story waiting to be told.
Through this project, Munaf and his ensemble invite listeners to experience the raw energy of Punjabi folk, the depth of Sufi poetry, and the timeless wisdom of spiritual music, all reimagined for today’s stage.
