Tarjani Hirani Collective
Dr. Tarjani Hirani has dedicated the last fifteen years to the study and performance of Hindustani classical music. Born into a musical family and trained first by her father, she went on to pursue formal education in music from Mumbai and Rajkot, completing her Master’s and PhD in Hindustani Classical Vocals at MSU Baroda. A scholar at a leading institute in Kolkata, she continues to inspire young audiences to understand and appreciate classical music.
A recognised artist with Doordarshan and Akashvani, Dr. Tarjani Hirani holds a Guinness World Record for the largest Indian Cinematic Music Band, and has also collaborated with renowned composers of Bollywood. Her deep love for the art reflects in her ability to bridge classical purity with contemporary sound.
With the Tarjani Hirani Collective, she presents the Taranaa in an Indo-Western style: blending ragas, rhythms and classical vocal forms with modern beats and arrangements. The performance reimagines traditional Taranaa without diluting the essence of either Hindustani or Western music.
Through this act, she hopes to bring serenity and joy to the audience, allowing them to momentarily escape the noise of the world. For Tarjani, music is both discipline and meditation, a space where tradition meets the freedom of expression.
