Shiva Tattva
One of the most distinguished disciples of Guru Shri Deepak Mazumdar,
Bharatanatyam exponent Pavitra Bhat has been performing and teaching the art for over two decades. He began his training at Kalanjali under Kumari Vasantha and continues to refine his practice under Smt. Nithyakalyani Vaidhyanathan in Chennai. Recognised with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Pavitra is also an ICCR Empanelled Artist and a Doordarshan Grade A performer.
Based in Mumbai, Pavitra has performed at leading festivals across India and toured internationally, earning acclaim for the clarity, geometry and sensitivity of his dance. Alongside performance, he has founded P.A.V.I. (Pavitra Art Visual Institute) to nurture the next generation of Bharatanatyam dancers.
At Abhivyakti, Pavitra presents “Shitva Tattva” with his ensemble. The work explores the devotee’s search for his place in the cosmic world of Shiva, beginning with the grandeur of the divine, moving through the elements of his presence, and culminating in the sacred rhythms of the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi. For Pavitra, this piece is about bridging the gap between the artist and the audience, bringing classical dance to the masses with openness and devotion.
