Kartik Dodiya has spent the last decade immersed in theatre as an actor, director and storyteller. Trained formally in the craft, his journey through musical plays sparked a deep curiosity about how words, sound and performance can come together to preserve cultural memory. That curiosity led him to the writings of Zaverchand Meghani, the legendary poet and folklorist of Gujarat.

His latest presentation Rang Meghani is a theatrical-musical celebration of Meghani’s life and work. Drawing from his poetry and other writings, the performance maps the poet’s journey through songs, stories and emotions that defined his vision of Gujarat and its people.

Rooted in Kathiyawadi tradition, Kartik’s research uncovered many forgotten pieces of Meghani’s brilliance that remain unseen by the masses. Through this production, he hopes to revive that legacy and introduce it to a new generation of audiences.

Rang Meghani is an invitation to rediscover one of Gujarat’s greatest literary voices and to leave the theatre inspired to read, reflect and reconnect with the cultural roots Meghani so passionately wrote about.
