Rang Mandu

Anup Shrivastava from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, is an artist who completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fine Arts. Anup has held numerous solo shows, including "When colour found Black" at Alliance Française de Bhopal (2025), “Rangeen”

Kanoria Centre for Art, Ahmedabad (2024), and “Folk Studio” Alliance Française de Bhopal (2018). His work has been exhibited internationally in Shanghai and Indonesia.

The artwork is titled “Rang Mandu”. This is a large-scale painting that reflects his journeys and experiences in Mandu. The work is described as not just a visual work; it is a journey - an unfolding of memories, emotions and colors that he has lived and felt in Mandu. Shrivastava states he did not create this work through a fixed plan or structure, but it evolved naturally, one emotion leading to another. Each color and form here represents the joy, spirit, and essence of Mandu.

“Rang Mandu” is a journey of seeing, feeling and being that has deeply touched his heart through its changing seasons and architecture. The takeaway for the audience is his hope that when viewers experience this work, they too become a part of that journey - where Mandu comes alive in its hues, memories and timeless beauty.
