Sweety Rani is a ceramic artist based in Kolkata, West Bengal. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Fine Arts from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University. Her practice draws inspiration from the behaviour and resilience of ants, using simplified sculptural forms to express persistence, unity and collective strength.

Her artwork “Pieces of Dream” is created using stoneware clay. The series emerges from personal experiences of being judged and misunderstood for physical appearance, which the artist transforms into reflections on endurance and self-worth. In her dreams, she imagines herself as a small being among giants, carrying heavy loads—an image that connects deeply to the life of ants. These dream fragments become the foundation of her sculptural language, where each form represents struggle, patience and the power of quiet determination.
