Left Hand of God

Based in Jaipur, dancer and storyteller Sarthak Dubey has been immersed in movement for more than twenty years. His roots lie in street style and hip hop, and his path has taken him from being a finalist at Hip Hop India to travelling abroad, including time in Korea, to refine and expand his craft. Entirely self-taught, he continues to shape his practice through exploration and lived experience.

At Abhivyakti, Sarthak presents “Left Hand of God”, a work inspired by Mayong, a village in Assam long regarded as the land of black magic. The performance draws on the idea of God’s two hands, with one representing a darker and more mysterious side.

Through hip hop and the language of street dance, he brings these ideas to life in a way that is both visceral and thought provoking.

For Sarthak, dance is not only performance but storytelling. Left Hand of God is his way of creating a story that reaches beyond the stage and stays with the audience as an experience to carry home.
