Harvest of Care

Supriyo Manna is an artist whose conceptual practice is deeply rooted in meticulous archival research and a critical examination of anthropocentrism. He is the recipient of the CIMA Award 2025 and has participated in notable group exhibitions, including the

Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2016–17), Paysages Politisés at Gallery Art & Charlie, Mumbai (2024) and Desh Pardesh, curated by Myna Mukherjee at Bikaner House, Delhi (2025).

The installation is titled “Harvest of Care” and functions as an unconventional archival monument dedicated to the existence and persistence of the humble 'weed' - a plant that grows where it’s not wanted. It is constructed using a combination of plant samples, dead tree branches and microorganisms. Glass jars will be used to display this archive of plant matter. The installation will also feature a sculpture made of aluminum. The installation challenges the dominant, often aggressive destruction of native, wild ecology that takes place in manicured urban spaces.

The primary takeaway for the people is an urgent challenge to look closer, urging them to recognize and appreciate the inherent value and profound resilience in all forms of life, even those we dismiss or categorize as mere obstacles to progress.
