At Abhivyakti, Girish presents Hargauri Shastri, a play that explores gender identity and fluidity through the story of a Brahmin actor who performs female characters on stage. The work is deeply personal to him as he has witnessed people suffer under the weight of taboo. For him, mythology itself holds a reminder—if Shiva and Shakti could exist as one, why should society resist fluidity today? Through this play, he hopes audiences reflect on their own perceptions and recognise that acceptance begins with empathy.
