Goonj ka Ghar
Aagaaz is a community-led arts organisation based in Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi. They create sustained, trauma-informed spaces for children, adolescents, youth, and women to imagine, express, question, and grow. Their work is anchored in Khwāb
Ghar—a community arts centre and free library—and a long-standing theatre repertory. Through storytelling, education, and advocacy, they build bridges of empathy and resilience in a complex world.
Nagina, Naghma, and Jasmine - 3 members of the community are directing their first play - Goonj ka ghar, a play that explores identity - its authority, ownership, and perception; and consent - how we know of it but not how to implement it. This performance stirs discomfort to awaken empathy, urging reflection on our own unkindness and growth. It asks: Where do these stories live in our bodies, and how do they connect us beyond right and wrong?
