Folk Yatra

Dipesh Varma, a composer and percussionist, has spent nearly two decades shaping sound. Trained under Guru Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, he has collaborated with leading names in the industry and is known for blending traditional rhythms with contemporary expression.

Celebrating India through its folk traditions, starting from the north and moving southward, weaving together the diverse sounds of India into one collective rhythm. Each segment captures the spirit of a region, culminating in a finale that reflects the essence of the nation itself.

For Dipesh, this performance is both a tribute and a promise, to keep folk music authentic, alive and accessible and he hopes the audience leaves with the pulse of India still echoing in their minds, a reminder of the country’s rhythm, diversity and shared heartbeat.

The ensemble, led by Dipesh Varma on Djembe and Percussion, features Amit Padhye and
Deep Vaze on Keyboard and Harmonium, Ratnadeep Jamsandekar on Indian Percussion, Adwait Kashikar on Flute, Prince Khan and Ustad Dilshad Khan on Sarangi (with the latter also on Vocals), Pt. Sridar Parthasarthy on Mridangam and Kanjira, and vocalists Deepika Varadrajan, Devashri Manohar, and Kaushal Pithadiya. The narration will be by Dhwani Emmanuel.
