Born into the thirteenth generation of a Dhrupad musical family, Shruti Sargam has lived and breathed music all her life. Yet it was the world of ghazal and Urdu poetry that truly changed her relationship with sound and meaning.

As a singer, she had performed countless ghazals without always grasping the full depth of the words she sang. That changed when she began to explore Urdu more deeply, not just as a language but as a cultural and emotional landscape. The more she learned, the more she discovered the poetry behind every note and the stories hidden within every syllable.
