Bulbul Das is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans photography, drawing, painting and animation. He has participated in the Student Biennale Workshop, Kochi, “I Show You My Town” documentary drawing project with Matthias Beckmann and exhibited at the Assam State Museum and Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

His charcoal animation “Ashes in Motion” is a poetic reflection on the fragile balance between humanity and the natural world. Using the raw, expressive quality of charcoal, Bulbul creates a visual language of loss, endurance and transformation. Each hand-drawn frame captures fleeting emotions, echoing the rhythm of natural cycles where destruction and renewal exist side by side.

Deeply personal yet universal, “Ashes in Motion” invites viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the environment. Through this work, Bulbul transforms his lived experiences into a visual meditation on resilience-the enduring bond between people, place and nature.
