“अतं राल” reimagines the traditional toran, not as a fixed gateway but as a fragmented memory of what once marked thresholds between sacred and domestic spaces. The installation embodies the “space between,” a moment of transition where the familiar becomes distant and the forgotten resurfaces. Through the interplay of ceramics, terracotta and iron, the work brings together two opposing material worlds- the organic and the industrial, the transient and the enduring. The fragmented toran forms suggest traces of architecture and ritual now eroded by time, evoking both reverence and rupture.
The installation “अतं राल” invites viewers to pause within this threshold, to sense the quiet dialogue between decay and endurance and to find their own moment of stillness between what was and what remains.
