Dr. Atindra Sarvadikar
Accompanied by two tanpuras, harmonium and tabla, his performance draws from his book Raag Mudra, a collection of original compositions that expand the vocabulary of Indian classical music. Through rare ragas and new ones like Prabhavati and Kedar-Bhatiyar, unconventional taals like 9½ and 11 beats, and intricate aada chautaal explorations, he challenges the boundaries of the traditional bandish. Dr. Atindra’s compositions reflect a refreshing range of themes, from the valour of Shivaji Maharaj and the devotion of Vitthal-Panduranga, to the philosophical legacy of Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Veer Savarkar. In his hands, the raga becomes not just a melodic framework, but a living narrative. Accompanied by Priya Sohale - Sarvadikar on Vocal support and tanpura, Shridhar Bhat on Harmonium, Raj Bhadra on Tabla, and Ohm Trivedi on Tanpura, the performance also features a Raagmala in poetry, where each line unfolds in a different raga, and a breathtaking composition tracing the journey of the River Ganga, flowing through changing geographies and moods.
