Amrapali is a dance-drama based on Kathak dance form. Amrapali is a historical character of Vaishali Republic (currently Bihar State) in ancient India. This production is life story of Amrapali, her journey from being a great dancer to Buddha devotee. This is a story of every human being as well. Amrapali is a common girl but great artist and finest dancer, she is declared as courtesan by Vaishali state, this position changes her life. She is also someone who loves her nation and identity associated with it.  Her all desires break down when she comes to know that her beloved is an enemy of the state. She leaves her lover for her beloved country and this agony leads her to Buddha. At last, Amrapali seeks divine knowledge – the eternal science of Self-Realization from the spiritual master -Mahatma Buddha, and becomes his devotee.
