Thomas Changmai is an artist from Vadodara, Gujarat. He is known as an environmentally focused artist, but he was inspired to move in this direction by the crisis at the Deding Patkai dam. Illegal coal mining had created a major crisis for this ecosystem. The seriousness of this became even more evident during the pandemic. Seeing the online campaigns being held to stop mining, he felt that he also had a responsibility to contribute something in this direction.
