The ceramic artwork “Wrong Plate” is made using stoneware clay. It reflects on unfairness and imbalance in society. The idea grew from observing how people often receive things that do not truly belong to them. Those with abundance keep getting more, while those in need are left with little or nothing. In the sculpture, each animal is given food that does not suit it. Only the fish receives what appears to be the right meal, yet it turns out to be a trap.

Through this symbolic arrangement, Souvik questions ideas of greed, privilege and misplaced generosity. The work suggests that what looks desirable or fair may still be harmful when driven by self-interest. Using the quiet language of clay and animal form, “Wrong Plate” becomes a reflection on social inequality and the subtle injustices that shape human life.
