The installation “Scrolls of Taste” is a mixed-media piece that includes oil paint, canvas, digital print, wood, plywood, etc. It transforms the exhibition space into an intimate archive of migration. The artwork presents food not merely as sustenance, but as a dynamic, living record of his personal and familial journey. Paintings echo the distinct form of an Assamese peera (a communal meal stool), with handwritten recipes and geographical maps inscribed beneath the surface.
The entire project is personally relevant as a visual diary of how the cultural and emotional concept of 'homes are carried with us wherever we go', not just in luggage but in rituals and memories. The piece emphasizes the vital role of food and memory as resilient cultural components of identity, surviving and thriving.
