Her work ManahChakshu: Seeing Beyond What is Seen bridges classical vocabulary with the urgent theme of mental health. The narrative follows a woman who ties happiness to material pursuits, only to find herself caught in a cycle of dissatisfaction. Through therapy and self-reflection, she begins to unravel these patterns, arriving at a more holistic understanding of well-being. Presented with a team of five, the piece uses abhinaya, rhythm and gesture to give shape to struggles that many face today.

For Anuja, this is a long-awaited opportunity to address contemporary issues while remaining faithful to the form she has dedicated her life to. With her guru also part of the performance, the work reflects both continuity and experimentation. She hopes audiences leave with a quiet reflection on their own habits and understanding of happiness, learning to see beyond what is seen.
