Tarak Patel has over a decade of experience in dance. He has expertise in styles such as hip-hop, Afro, dancehall, house, popping and locking. His passion for dance is evident in his commitment to continuous learning and growth. Through his art forms, Tarak aims to celebrate culture, traditions, and the power of dance to unite people. He has performed in Abhivyakti Edition 2 in ‘Tings of Actuality’, and in edition 3 in ‘Sanjay Uvach’. In this edition of Abhivyakti City Arts Project, Tarak Patel is presenting ‘Urban Drums’, an Afro dance performance. With this, he will be representing the vibrant culture and style from which Afro dance originates. The concept showcases how the infectious beats and rhythms of Afro-music naturally inspire movement and dance. The performance highlights the pure culture and style of this African folk art form, incorporating bamboo drumsticks as a prop to enhance the tribal-like feel. The dance aims to make the audience groove and dance along with the performance, emphasising the inclusivity of the Arts Project where all forms of artistic expression are celebrated.
