Aman Raithatha received his training for Indian classical music vocals from mentors Jigar Mistry, Pandit Ramdas Inamdar, Aniket Khandekar, for Mewati and Jaipuri Sangeet from Shri Vinay Ramdasan, for Tabla from Ajinkya Joshi, and harmonium from Tanmay Deochake. His prominent performances include “Mann Mohyo Sawaro” in the Serendipity Arts Festival and Classical Solo Performances such as Meghranjani at prominent venues like Parampara Yuva Mahotsav 2024. In this edition of Abhivyakti City Arts Project, Aman is immensely inspired by his family’s devotion towards the Vaishnava sect and the hymns and songs associated with the folklore. He references the works of Pandit Jasraj in the area of Haveli & Mewati Sangeet and the texts of the Ashtachhaap poets and their life stories. In this performance, an ensemble of 14 artists weave a transcendental and spiritual piece of music which is conversational and educational about the poets and their works, while contemporarizing Haveli Sangeet for the modern audiences.
