Kavya Oza

Kavya is a recent graduate from the M.S. University where she did her post-graduation in printmaking. She has interned under Jyoti Bhatt, a well-renowned artist and photographer. Photography for her is an act of appreciating ‘the moment’. This ready to hand medium helps her to capture something in its rawest form that is exact to the subject.

The work that she has put up is titled ‘Word of her closet & Absence of her identity’ which includes more than 75 small, hand-painted photographs that inquire about the position of females in our society. By focusing on female gestures and their traditional outfits, the series unconventionally represents and questions the base of women in our social structures, their identity and essence.
