Avni Sethi

Avni is an interdisciplinary practitioner with her primary concern lying between culture, memory, space, and the body. She has been trained in multiple dance idioms, and her performances are largely inspired by syncretic faith, traditions and sites of contested narratives. She conceptualized and designed the Conflictorium, a museum of conflict which acts as a home to diverse critical explorations on conflict transformation and art practice.

For the festival, Avni has complied a Book of Essays about love seen through the lens of the Conflictorium. The book will be published by Abhivyakti and will be situated at the entrance so that the visitors can take a copy back with them. And on the basis of the book, extracting particular snippets of it, Hiral Bhagat will convert them into calligraphic paintings on large drooping scrolls.
